Doğrudan yabancı yatırım (DYY), büyüme ve dış ticaret arasındaki nedensellik ilişkilerine dair karmaşık sonuçlara ulaşan ampirik literatüre katkı sağlamayı hedefleyen bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 1974-2011 dönemine ait verileri kullanılmakta ve Toda-Yamamoto (T-Y) prosedürü takip edilerek değişkenler arasındaki uzun dönem nedensellik bağı araştırılmaktadır. Literatürdeki diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak bu çalışmada, değişkenler arasındaki içsellik ilişkisinden dolayı DYY girişleri, ekonomik büyüme, ithalat ve ihracat tek bir VAR modeli içinde ele alınmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular; “büyümeye dayalı ihracat”, “ihracata bağlı DYY” ve “ithalata bağımlı ihracat” hipotezlerini desteklemektedir. Bu bulgular, ithalata bağlı ihracat yapısı ve DYY girişlerinin bu yapıyı değiştirmemesi nedeniyle, ihracata dayalı büyüme hipotezinin Türkiye örneğinde doğrulanamadığı biçiminde değerlendirilebilir

In this paper aspiring to contribute to the empirical literatüre which was achieving conflicting findings about causal relations among foreign direct investment (FDI), economic growth and foreing trade, in the period of 1974-2011, the data set belongs to Turkey was used and fallowing the TodaYamamoto (T-Y) procedure, the long term causal relation among variables were investigated. Unlike from the previous studies in the literatüre, because of the endegoneity among variables, inward FDI, economic growth, export and import were handled in just a VAR model. Achieved findings support “the growth-led export hypothesis”, “the export-led FDI hypothesis” and “the import-led export hypothesis”. These findings may be evaluated as: by the reason of the import-led export structure and this structure couldn’t be changed by the inward FDI, export-led growth hypothesis couldn’t be supported in the pattern of Turkey
