Üstün Yetenekli Öğrencilerin Eğitimine Yönelik Sınıf Öğretmeni Adaylarının Tutumlarının ve Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

Bu çalışmada, eğitim fakültesi sınıf öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının üstün yetenekli eğitimine yönelik tutumlarının ve görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklem gruplarını, tutum ölçeğini dolduran Mersin Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Sınıf Öğretmenliği Bölümünde öğrenim gören 224 öğretmen adayı ve üstün yetenekli eğitimine yönelik görüş formunu dolduran 24 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak, öğretmen adaylarının üstün yeteneklilerinin eğitimine ilişkin tutumlarını ölçmek üzere “Üstün Yeteneklilerinin Eğitimine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği (ÜYETÖ)” 14 maddelik kısa kısa revize formu ve üstün yeteneklilerinin eğitimine yönelik görüşlerini toplamak amacıyla ise “Üstün Yeteneklilerinin Eğitimine Yönelik Görüş Formu” kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının tutumlarının, cinsiyetlerine ve sınıf düzeylerine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı t-testi ve Anova testleri ile incelenmiştir. Üstün yetenekli eğitimine yönelik öğretmen adaylarının açık uçlu soru formu aracılığıyla toplanan görüşlerine ise içerik analizi uygulanmış, elde edilen kodlar, yüzde ve frekans olarak verilmiştir. Çalışmada, üstün yetenekli eğitimine yönelik sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının tutumlarının 3 alt boyutta da olumlu düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerine göre üstün yetenekli bireylere özel eğitim verilmesinin oldukça önemli ve gerekli görüldüğü buna karşın okulların, üstün yetenekli eğitiminde yetersiz bulunduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Analyze of Opinions and Attitudes of Primary School Teacher Candidates towards Education of Highly Gifted Students

In this study, it is aimed to determine opinions and attitudes of teacher candidates who are studying at the department of primary school teaching at the faculty of education towards education of highly gifted ones. Sample group of this survey is composed of 224 teacher candidates that have filled attitude scale who are studying at the department of primary school teaching at faculty of education at the University of Mersin and 24 teacher candidates who have filled opinion forms towards education of highly gifted. At this survey as data collection tools, in order to survey attitudes of teacher candidates towards education of highly gifted “Attitude Scale Towards Education of Highly Gifted (ASTEHG)” 14 point short revise form and to collect opinions about education of highly gifted ones “Opinion Form on Education of Highly Gifted ones” are used. Whether attitudes of teacher candidates show substantially difference according to grade and gender or not is investigated by t-Test and Anova test. Content analysis is applied to opinions of teacher candidates towards education of highly gifted ones which are collected via open ended question form then obtained codes are presented as percentage and frequency. It is found in this study that attitudes of primary school teachers towards education of highly educated ones are positive at 3 sub-dimensions. Moreover according to opinions of teacher candidates, it is very important and necessary to provide special education for highly gifted students but schools are inadequate for educating highly gifted ones.
