Periodontoloji kliniklerine başvuran hastaların periodontal sağlık durumlarının ve sigara kullanımlarının tedavi öncesi ve sonrası klinik parametreler üzerine etkilerinin değerlendirilmesi: Retrospektif kesitsel bir çalışma (Bölüm II)

Amaç: 2017-2018 tarihleri arasında başlangıç periodontal tedavilerini Yeditepe Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Periodontoloji Anabilim Dalı öğrenci kliniklerinde tamamlayan hastaların periodontal sağlık durumlarını ve sigara alışkanlıklarının, işlem öncesi ve işlem sonrası klinik parametreleri ile karşılaştırılması amaçlamıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu retrospektif kesitsel çalışmaya, Periodontoloji Anabilim Dalı hasta kartları taranan periodonsiyumu etkileyen herhangi bir sistemik hastalığa sahip olmayan 603 hasta dahil edildi. Bu hastaların demografik verileri, periodontal teşhisleri, sigara kullanımları, başlangıç tedavileri öncesi ve sonrası kayıt altına alınan farklı periodontal klinik parametreleri (sondalama derinliği (SD), plak indeksi (PI), gingival indeks (GI), sondalamada kanama (SK)) değerlendirilip karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya dahil edilen hasta popülasyonunun 339’unun (%56,2) kadın, 264’ünün (%43,8) erkek olduğu ve yaş ortalamalarının 37,48±14,43 yıl olduğu tespit edildi. Vakaların 384’ünün (%63,7) Kronik Periodontitis’li (KP) iken, 219’unun (%36,3) Gingivitis’li (G) olduğu görüldü. Evaluation of the effects of patients’ periodontal health status and smoking habits on clinical parameters were treated in the periodontology clinics: A retrospective cross-sectional study (Part II)

Aim: This study was aimed to compare the periodontal health status and smoking habits of the patients who completed their initial periodontal treatments in Yeditepe University Faculty of Dentistry Periodontology Department, between years in 2017 and 2018, with the clinical parameters before and after the treatment. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study 603 patients who did not have any systemic diseases affecting the periodontium were included. Demographic data of these patients, periodontal diagnoses, smoking habits, different periodontal clinical parameters recorded before and after the initial treatments (probing depth (PD), plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI), bleeding on probing (BOP)) were evaluated and compared. Results: It was determined that 339 (56.2%) of the total patient population included in the study were female and 264 (43.8%) were male and their mean age was 37.48 ± 14.43 years.
