Karma dişlenme döneminde sabit dil paravanı uygulanan ön açık kapanış vakalarında yumuşak doku değişikliklerinin 3-boyutlu değerlendirilmesi
Amaç: Ön açık kapanışa neden olan parmak emme ve dil itme gibi kötü alışkanlıkların sabit dil paravanı apareyi ile engellenmesi sonucu meydana gelen yumuşak doku değişikliklerinin üç boyutlu fotoğraflar yardımıyla değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Parmak emme ve dil itimi sonucu ön açık kapanışa sahip 9 kadın (ort. yaş: 9,45 ± 1,33 yıl) ve 6 erkek (ort. yaş: 8,50 ± 0,71 yıl) hasta çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların tedavileri (ort. tedavi süresi: 0,6±0,1 yıl) üst çene daimî birinci molar dişlerine yapıştırılan sabit dil paravanı apareyi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. 3dMD fotoğraf cihazı ile tedaviden hemen önce (T0) ve aparey çıkarılmasından hemen sonra (T1) alınan 3 boyutlu fotoğraflarda yüz analizleri ve dijital kumpas ile overjet ve overbite ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Alınan fotoğraflar üzerinde 16 adet mesafe ve 6 adet açısal ölçüm için 3dMD Vultus programından faydalanılmıştır. İstatistiksel değerlendirmeler Wilcoxon analizi ve Pearson korelasyon analizi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Three-dimensional evaluation of soft tissue changes after fixed palatal crib application in anterior open-bite cases
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the soft tissue changes after the fixed palatal crib application in patients with the anterior open bite as the result of bad habits such as thumb sucking and tongue thrusting using three dimensional photographs. Materials and Method: Nine females (mean age: 9.45 ± 1.33 years) and six males (mean age: 8.50 ± 0.71 years) with anterior open bite due to thumb sucking and tongue thrusting were included in the study. Patients' treatments (mean treatment time: 0.6±0.1 years) were performed with fixed palatal crib attached to the upper first molar teeth. Overjet and overbite measurements were performed with digital calipers and 3D photographs taken before (T0) and after (T1) treatment with 3dMD photographic device were used facial analyses. 16 distance and 6 angular measurements were achieved using 3dMD Vultus program. Wilcoxon test and Pearson correlation analysis was used for statistical evaluation.
