Ekonomik Özgürlüklerin İktisadi Büyümeye Etkisi: İslam İşbirliği Teşkilatı Ülkeleri Üzerine Panel Veri Analizi

Bu çalışmanın amacı ekonomik özgürlüklerle büyüme arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığını araştırmaktır. Özgürlükler ile büyüme ve gelişme arasında 1980’li yıllardan önce büyümenin özgürlükler doğuracağı anlayışı hâkim iken bu tarihten sonra özgürlükler büyüme doğurabilir anlayışı daha ağır basmaya başlamıştır. Nitekim literatürde bu ikisini destekleyen çalışmalara rastlanmaktadır. Özgürlükler ve büyüme ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalar genellikle gelişmiş ülkeler, geçiş ekonomileri, OECD ülkeleri ve tek tek ülke örnekleri üzerinde olmuştur. Bu çalışma 1998-2013 yılları arasında İslam İşbirliği Teşkilatına üye olan 17 ülkenin genel ekonomik özgürlüğü ile ekonomik özgürlüğün alt dalları olan kriterlerin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkilerini tahmin etmektedir. Yapılan analiz ve değerlendirme sonucunda ekonomik özgürlüklerin büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.

Impact on Economic Growth Freedom: An Empirical Analysis on Organization of Islamic Countries

The aim of this paper is to investigate whether there is a relationship between economic growth and freedom. There is a dominant relationship between economic freedom and economic growth; the economic growth cause economic freedom before the 1980s after this date economic freedom reveal economic growth. Indeed, studies supporting both are found in the literature. Studies on the freedom and growth has generally been associated with developed countries, transition economies, OECD countries and individual country examples. In this study, it is estimated that there is a relationship between economic growth and economic freedom with other branches of economic freedom over the period 1998-2013 for 17 countries which are member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Consequently, according to the analysis, it is found that economic freedom affects economic growth positively.
