THE EFFECTS OF ENDURANCE TRAINING ON BODY COMPOSITION AND SOME PHYSICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BLOOD PARAMETERS OF MALE BASKETBALL PLAYERS AGED 13-14 YEARS

The purpose of this study was to asses the effects of extensive interval training on aerobic power ( V02 max), resting heart rate, anaerobic power, body composition, and some blood parameters of male basketball players aged 13-14 years. A total 24 male young players were voluntarely participated in this study as subject. Subjects were divided into two groups, as a control (n = 12), and interval running (n = 12) groups. Subjects within interval training group ran three times in a week for ten weeks at their target heart rate that was % 60. All measurements were taken one week before and after from training program. Statistical analysis of datas included mean (X), standart deviation (SD), and paired t-test. The results indicated that extensive interval training significantly effected height, aerobic power ( V02 max), resting heart rate, anaerobic power, body composition, hemoglobin, leucosit and erythrosit concentrations.
