Bu çalışma, Ankara'da Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokullarının sınavlarına girecek olan aday öğrencilerin bu okullara giriş amaçları ile yine bu öğrencilerin öğrenci seçme kriterleri ve okulların amaçları ile ilgili görüşlerinin ortaya konulmasını amaçlamıştır. Çalışmaya Ankara'daki üç üniversitenin spor yüksekokullarına başvuran 270 erkek ve bayan öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak bir anket uygulanmıştır. Veriler SPSS paket programında analiz edilmiş, frekans dağılımları ve yüzde değerleri bulunmuştur. Ayrıca se­çeneklerin önem dereceleri çıkartılmış ve her biri belli bir ağırlık verilerek her seçenek için toplam bir sıralama elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca bazı sorulara verilen cevaplar arasındaki ilişki kaykare testi ile anlamlılık düzeyi (p< 0.05) düzeyinde bakılmıştır. Bu testin varsayımları karşılayamadığı durumlarda çapraz tablo üzerinden açıklamalar yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda; aday öğrencilerin BESYO'larına giriş amaçlarında "Sporu sevdiği için" tercih edenler birin­ci, "Beden Eğitimi ve Spor öğretmenliği mesleğini sevenler" ikinci, "Ailesinin teşviki" ile girenler üçüncü sırada yer almıştır. Aday öğrencilerin BESYO'larının amaçlarına ilişkin görüşlerinde, "BESYO'larını sadece Beden Eğitimi Öğretmeni yetiştiren kurum" oldukları birinci, "BESYO'larının Türk Sporuna Spor Yöneticisi yetiştiren ku­rumlar" oldukları ikinci ve "BESYO'larının Türk spor politikasını yönlendiren kurumlar" olduğu ise üçüncü sırada yer almıştır. Çalışmada aday öğrencilerin giriş kriterlerine ilişkin görüşlerinin önem sıralamasında "BESYO'larına girişte dayanıklılık kriterlerine önem verilmesini" tercih edenler birinci, "Sürat testi kriterlerine önem verilme­sini" tercih edenler ikinci, "Beceri-koordinasyon kriterlerine önem verilmesini" tercih edenler ise üçüncü önem sırasında tercih etmişlerdir. Aday öğrencilerin BESYO' farına giriş kriterlerinin ağırlıklarına ilişkin görüşlerinde "Sürat testinin katkısı", birinci, "Spor branşlarının katkısı" ikinci ve; "Dayanıklılık testinin katkısı" ise üçüncü sı­rada belirtilmiştir. Bulgular Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokullarına başvuran aday öğrencilerin sporu ve öğretmenlik mesleğini sevdikleri için tercih ettikleri, BESYO'nun amaçlarına ilişkin görüşlerinde ise, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni yetiştiren bir kurum olarak belirtmişlerdir.

This study investigates the opinions of the candidate students about the aims of applying to the school of physical education and sports and the opinions about the schools purposes together with the student selection criteria 270 female and male students who were applied to these universities namely the school of physical education and sports of Ankara University, Gazi University and Hacettepe University, School of Sports Scien­ces and Technology are volunteerly participated in this study. The Questionnaire was applied to obtain the data in five parts. The data of the research has been evaluated by SPSS program and they have been interpreted in tables by means of frequency and percentage values. As a result of this study; purposes of the candidate students applying the school of physical education and s-ports; the first one is "They like sport", the second one is "they like the physical education and sports education teaching career" and the third one is the "families encouragement" .The candidate students' opinion about the school purposes; the first one is "the school of physical education and sports is the organizations that they only educate the physical education teachers", the second one is" the school of physical education and sports is educating the sport management to the Turkish sport" and the third one is" the school of physical and sports is the organizations that they are direct the Turkish sports politics". According to the opinions of the candidate stu­dents about the selection criteria; first one is "endurance test" the second one is " sprint test is ", the third one is "skill coordination is " in this research. According to the opinions of the candidate students about how the se­lection criteria of the students must be, the first one is"sprint", the second one is "branch of sports"and the third one is "endurance test". The results of this study shows,that the candidate students are applying to the school of physical education and sports, because; they like sports and teaching professions, secondly the opinion of the candidate students about the school of physical education and sports purposes is" the organization in which they educate the physical educators and sport teachers".
