THE RELATION BETWEEN MAXIMAL INTERMITTENT SPRINT PERFORMANCE AND LACTIC ANAEROBIC CAPACITY AND AEROBIC POWER

This study was done to resarch the physiologic bases of intermittent sprints that were commonly aplied in sport games such as football and to find out the reasons of performance reducing as results of such sprints. For this reason, this study was done with 21 amateur footballers whose aged are 20±1.5 years, heights 174.6±5.4 cm and weights 69.8±4.6 kg. Maximal intermittent sprint performances of the players were measured on the grass football field in different protocols with 30-60 second rest repeated sprints. Aerobic power was measured ind-rectly by shuttle run and Anaerobic capacity was measured by wingate test protocol on the cycle ergometer Monark 834. It was establish that although there aren't relation between lactic anaerobic capacity and maximal intermittent sprint performance with 30-60 second rest, there are negative relations with aerobic power ( p<.01 and p<.05)
