Dil bilimi kuramları, çeşitli dillerin ortak özelliklerinden hareketle oluşturulmuş ve genel anlamda "dil" sistemini tanımlamayı amaçlamışlardır. Ancak diller toplumdan topluma değişen sistemlerdir ve onları yaratan kültürden bağımsız değillerdir. Toplumların düşünce yapıları ve kültürleri dillerini biçimlendirmiştir. Bu nedenle bir milletin dilini diğer dillerden farklı kılan ve tanımlanırken dil bilimi kuramlarının ortaya koyduğu ölçütten farklı yaklaşımlar gerektiren özellikler taşıdıkları görülür. Bu çalışmada, Türkçe, Saussure'ün ortaya koyduğu "göstergenin nedensizliği" ilkesi bakımından değerlendirilmektedir. Bilindiği gibi Türkçeyi diğer dillerden farklı kılan en önemli özellik, bireşimsel (sentetik) yapısı ve son eyleyen (önemli öğeyi sona atan) söz dizimidir. Bu özellikler de daha ilk bakışta gösteren-gösterilen ilişkisinin nedenli olduğu – Saussure’ün deyimiyle "görece nedenlilik taşıdığı"- izlenimini doğurmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, çeşitli dil göstergelerinin gösterilen boyutu ve bu iki boyut arasındaki ilişki dikkatlere sunularak Türkçede "göreceli nedenliliğin" oldukça önemli bir özellik olduğu sonucuna varılmaktadır

Linguistic concepts have been created from the common features of various languages and have aimed to descibe the "language" system. But, however, languages are the systems changing from one society to another and dependable on the cultures of those societies.The cultures and thought structures have shaped their languages. In this study, Turkish has been examined from the point of Sousseure's the arbitrarines of sign aspect. As it is known, the most important feature making Turkish different from the other languages is its syntactic structure and aggrotulative word order.These features have been drawing out the impression that the signifier and signified relation is motivated Sausseur defines as the relavity of arbitrarines. In this study, it has been resulted that the relativity of arbitrarines is an important feature in Turkish by presenting the signifier aspect of various language signs and the relation between these two aspects.
