SOSYAL REFORMA KARŞI BİREYSEL TEDAVİ: YÜZYILLIK TARTIŞMANIN NEDENLERİNE İLİŞKİN BİR DENEME

Yüzyıl sonra dahi, sosyal hizmet mesleğinin temel amacı konusunda tartışmalar devam etmektedir. Bireysel tedavi mi yoksa sosyal reform mu, uyum mu yoksa sosyal değişme mi, mikro sosyal hizmet uygulaması mı makro sosyal hizmet uygulaması mı, self- determinasyon mu yoksa sosyal adalet mi? Bu makale, bu yanlış sorulara neden olan ve yazar tarafından, mesleğin gelişim parametreleri, uygulandığı toplumsal koşullar ve toplumla olan ilişkisi olarak kavramsallaştırılan faktörleri açıklamaya çalışmaktadır.

Social Reform Versus Individual Treatment: Opening a Window to the Reasons of One Hundred Year Debate

After 100 years, there are stili debates about the basic goal of social work profession. Is it individual treatment or social reform, adjustment or social change, micro social work practlce or macro social work practlce, self- determination or social justice? This article tries to exp!ore the factors causing these false questions which are conceptualized by the author as parameters of the conditions in which social work emerge, societal contex in which social work practised and its relation with the society.
