Sosyal Çalışmada Kesişimsellik

Bu araştırma, feminist teoride gelişen yaklaşımlardan biri olan kesişimselliğe ve sosyal çalışma disiplini ve mesleği için kesişimselliğin ihtiva ettiklerine yönelik bir alan-yazın değerlendirmesi yapmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, öncelikle sosyal çalışmada kesişimselliğin neden gerekli olduğu gelişen sosyal çalışma tanımları üzerinden tartışılmakta, daha sonra kesişimsellik sınıflandırmalarına yönelik teorik bilgi verilmekte ve son olarak kesişimselliğin sosyal çalışma disiplinine yönelik katkılarına odaklanılmaktadır. Sosyal çalışmanın epistemolojik temelini güçlendirmesinin yanı sıra, hizmet verilen nüfusu farklılık ve çeşitlilik zemininde tanımak, sosyal çalışmacının kendisine ve mesleki rolüne dair öz-farkındalık kazanması ve sosyal çalışmacının sorun ve ihtiyaçlara yönelik çözüm önerileriyle sosyal politika geliştirilmesine zemin hazırlayarak sosyal adalete katkı sunması kesişimsellik yaklaşımının sosyal çalışmaya en önemli katkıları olarak sunulmaktadır.

Intersectionality in Social Work

This research aims to make a literature review on intersectionality which is one of the developing approaches in feminist theory and on the implications of intersectionality for social work discipline and profession. In this respect, firstly the reasons why intersectionality is necessary in social work are discussed through the developing definitions of social work. This section tries to reveal the theoretical justification of the adoption of the intersectional approach in social work by focusing on the development of social work definitions of the International Federation of Social Workers and the International Association of Schools of Social Work and the standards of Council on Social Work Education. The following section focuses on definitions and classifications of the intersectionality, which are classified as "systematic intersectionality” and "constructionist intersectionality", through the differences and similarities between them. The final part focuses on the contributions of intersectionality to social work. Besides strengthening the epistemological basis of social work, the most important contributions are presented to know the clients on the ground of difference and diversity, to enhance self-awareness of the social worker and of her/his professional role, and to contribute to social justice agenda by producing solutions to the problems and needs of the clients.
