Plastik sanatlar ve diğer tüm sanat dalları ahlak gelişimine katkısı olan, kişinin yaratıcı kabiliyetinin gelişmesinin yanında estetik bilincini de geliştiren önemli kültürel etkinliklerdir. Fakat ülkemizde artan yaşam kaygıları, geçim sıkıntıları, eksik eğitim politikaları ve medyanın dejenerasyonu neticesinde tüm sanat dallarının erozyona uğradığı görülmektedir. Sanatçı olmak özel bir durumdur. Doğuştan gelen yetenek yanında sanat alanında alınmış eğitim de sanatçı olmanın gereklerindendir. Sanatçı olmak toplumda bazı özel insanlara özgü bir durumdur, bunun yanında tüm toplumdan sanat yapması beklenemez fakat sanat dalları ile ilgilenmek, iyi bir sanat tüketicisi olmak en azından herhangi bir sanat dalına yakınlık duymak kültürel yaşamın ve çağdaş bir toplumun varlığını gösterir. Eğitim bu anlamda temel etkendir. Okullarda okutulan sanat derslerinin ilköğretim basamaklarında çocuğa tanıtılmasıyla birlikte başlayan bu süreç, tüm eğitim basamaklarında devam etmelidir. Sanat eğitimini gelişiminin ilk basamaklarında alan çocuk, yarının yetişkin bir sanatseveri olma durumu, sanat eğitimi almamış bireye göre mutlaka farklı olacaktır. Medyanın da bu anlamda toplumu eğitme politikası birincil görevi olmamakla birlikte bir sanat politikasının da bulunması gerekliliği düşünülmektedir.

Plastic arts as well as other branches of art arecommonly accepted as considerable cultural activitiesthat contribute to the ethical development and thatdevelop individual’s creativity besides improving theaesthetical conscience. However it is observed that;due to the increased worries of existence, sustenanceproblems, deficiencies in educational policies anddegeneration of the media, all branches of art arefaced with erosion.Being an artist is a special status. Education on artis one of the necessities of being an artist besideshaving the inborn talent. Being an artist is somewhatpeculiar to certain people in the society therefore thewhole society can not be expected to perform art. Onthe other hand, being interested in art branches, beinga good consumer of art and feeling close to any artbranch indicate a cultural life and a contemporarysociety. In this sense, education is the primary agent.The process which begins with the introduction of artto children at art courses in the primary educationshould continue in all steps of education. The child,who has received art education in the earlier periodsof school life, will definitely have a more positivesituation in being a lover of art when compared toanother who has not received any art education.Developing a policy concerning the edification of thesociety is not the primary duty of media. However,these means should constitute an art policy for theuse of art.
