Killing of Akhi Awran Nasir Al-Din Mahmud and Ala Al-Din Chalabi and Determining Their Date of Death

There happened a severe strife based on social, political and cultural discrepancies between Khace Nasir al-Din Mahmud, the famous wise man and known as Akhi Awran, and Mawlana Calal al-Din al-Rumi and his circle of friends at the time of Anatolian Seljukids. Murder of Shams-i Tabrizi, Hodja of Mawlana, happened as a result of this contention. Ala al-Din Chalabi, Son of Mawlana, also played an important role in the murder of Shams-i Tabrizi. While Akhi Awran Khace Nasir al-Din Mahmud was in struggle with the ruling party supportive of the Mongols, Mawlana and his supporters continued the struggle against their opponents with the help of this ruling party. In 1261 (659) at the time of suppressing the uprising commenced by the Akhi Awran and his supporters, this ruling party put Akhi Awran, Ala al-Din Chalabi, Son of Mawlana and the other Akhis to the sword completely in Kirşehir. There are much information in the works of Mawlana and his cicle of friends about these events.
