Üsküdar Toptaşı Bimarhanesi üzerine yapılan çalışmalarda hastanenin eczanesine değinilmemiştir. Hastane eczanesinin son döneminde, bimarhanenin ana girişinin batısında yeralan, Aşçıbaşı Konağı olarak bilinen yapıda yerleştiği belgelenmiştir. Eczanenin çalışma düzeni konusunda Toptaşı Bimarhanesinin 1913 tarihli Talimatnamesi, yayımlanmış raporlar ve aynı dönemde hastanede görev yapan hekimlerin yayımladıkları psikiyatri kitaplarındaki örneklerden çıkarsamalar yapılmıştır. Bimarhane eczanesi, İstanbul Emraz-ı Akliye ve Asabiye Müessesesi ile birlikte 1927 yılında Toptaşı’ndan Bakırköy’e taşınmış ve burada yeniden kurulmuştur.

Studies of the Toptaşı Mental Asylum in Üsküdar, İstanbul do not refer to the pharmacy of this institution. The reports on the Toptaşı Asylum issued after the Young Turk Revolution of 1908, and the new 1913 Regulation of the hospital shed light on the state and function of its pharmacy, which was located in a separate building adjacent to the main entrance. The few extant photographs allow us to identify the location and the interiors of the Toptaşı Asylum pharmacy. Texts published by attending psychiatrists in the years 1910-1920 provide cases of medical treatment and details of prescriptions. This pharmacy was reorganized when the psychiatric institution moved to its new premises in Bakırköy.
