Bu yazının amacı, 2006 yılı başlarında yapılan ekonomik tahminlere ilişkin birtakım düzeltmeler yapmaktır. Bunun sebebi ise, Mayıs ayından itibaren gerek iç, gerek dış konjonktürün etkisiyle ortaya çıkan gelişmelerin söz konusu bu tahminleri etkilemiş olmasıdır. 2005 yılı temel göstergeleri ve 2006 yılı başlarındaki ekonomik gelişmeler, 2006 yılında Türk ekonomisinin büyümesini sürdüreceği beklentisine sebep olmuştur. Bunun gerçekleşmesi için gerekli olan koşullar ise Şubat 2006’da yapılan tahminlerde ortaya konulmuştur. Bu koşullardan ikisi gerçekleşmiş, diğer ikisi gerçekleşmemiştir. 2007 yılında Nisan ayında yapılacak olan Cumhurbaşkanlığı seçimleri ve Kasım ayındaki genel seçimlere ilişkin devam eden tartışmalar henüz netlik kazanmamış olup dış açığın kontrolü ve daha fazla artmaması sağlanamamıştır. Öte yandan işsizlik oranının azalması ve borç ödemede aksaklık olmaması koşulları yerine gelmiştir. Tüm bu veriler çerçevesinde, 2006 yılının ikinci yarısında en önemli ekonomik sorun olarak enflasyonun kontrol altında tutulması ön plana çıkmaktadır.

(First and Second Half of 2006) The objective of this study is to re-examine the economic expectations that were declared at the beginning of 2006. This is because the internal and external conjectures which have started to be seen since May 2006 have affected the economic expectations. As a result of the economical data of 2005 and the economic developments of the early 2006, the expectations concerning the economic development of 2006 remained. The required conditions to realize this expectation was also put forward in February 2006. Two of these were realized whereas two of them were not realized. The discussions regarding the election of President in April in 2007 and the general elections to be held in November, 2007 are still on the agenda. Besides this, the control of gap in foreign trade and its prevention have not been achieved. On the other hand, the decrease of unemployment and payments of debts have realized as it was planned before. Within context of all these facts, the control of inflation seems as one of the most important problems waiting to be solved in the second half of 2006.
