İŞÇİ DÖVİZLERİ, KURUMSAL YAPI VE BÜYÜME

Gelişmekte olan ülkeler, büyüme hedefleri çerçevesinde iç kaynaklara ek olarak dış kaynaklara da büyük ölçüde ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. Bu tür dış kaynaklar içerisinde işçi dövizleri de önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 2000-2016 döneminde Dünya Bankası sınıflamasına göre orta gelir grubunda yer alan yirmi dokuz ülkede işçi dövizleri ve büyüme arasındaki ilişki incelenmektedir. Son yıllarda büyüme literatüründe ekonomik büyümenin temel kaynağı olarak kabul edilen kurumsal değişkenlerden bazılarına da iki değişken arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesinde yer verilmiştir. Panel veri analizi tahmincilerinden sapması düzeltilmiş kukla değişkenli en küçük kareler tahmincisinin kullanıldığı çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlar; işçi dövizlerinin büyümeyi pozitif ve anlamlı biçimde etkilediğini göstermektedir. Fakat bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişki zayıftır. Kurumsal yapıya ait değişkenlerin dahil edildiği modellerde de iki değişken arasındaki ilişki yine anlamlı olmakla birlikte, işçi dövizlerinin büyüme üzerinde zayıf bir etkisi olduğu görülmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, kurumsal yapıdaki ilerlemelerin ekonomik gelişme ve büyüme amacı çerçevesinde gerekli olsa da, işçi dövizlerinin ev sahibi ülkeye çekilmesi ve bu çekilen fonların yatırıma yönlendirilmesi noktasında tek başına yeterli bir faktör olmadığını göstermektedir.
