Mehmet Güler, çocuklara ve gençlere yönelik birçok esere imza atmış eğitimci yazarlarımızdandır. Bu çalışmada yazarın eserleri çocuk işçiler bakımından ele alınmıştır. İncelenen eserlerde çocukların hangi işlerde çalıştığı üzerinde durulmuş, onları çalışmaya iten nedenler araştırılmış ve çalışmanın çocuk üzerindeki etkilerine değinilmiştir. Çocuk işçiler sorununa eğitimci gözüyle yaklaşan ve onların ortak serüvenini bulmaya çalışan yazar, genel olarak çalışma ve okul hayatı kavramları arasındaki ilişkiye dikkat çekerek bireyin eğitim hakkına vurgu yapmak istemiştir. Sonuç olarak Güler, çocuk işçiliğini tasvip etmemekle ve bu durumun çocukların eğitim hayatına engel olduğunu belirtmekle birlikte çalışmak kavramını tahsilin devamını sağlayan bir dayanak olarak da görmektedir.

Mehmet Güler who is one of our educator and writers has signed many works for children and youth. In this study, the author's works are discussed in terms of child labours. It has focused on children to works in which jobs and it has been investigated the reasons which push factors them the labour and mentioned the impacts of labour on children in the examined works. The author who approaching the problem of child labours from the point of view of an educator and working to find their common adventure wanted to emphasize the individual's right to education drawing attention to the relationship between the concept of work and school life in general. As a result, although Güler does not approve of child labours and states that this situation is interfere with children’s educational life, he also sees that the notion of work as a basis on which to continue the education.
