A systems of government or form of state governance, refers to the set of political institutions by which a government of a state is organized in order to exert its powers. Political system or political regime includes formal and informal rules and institutions that show who can exert power and how power can be carried out. What is an ideal political (governance) system in representative democracies? What is the best democratic political regime? Which criteria are meaningful to make comparisons among political (governance) regimes? Those questions are the subject matter of this study
