Bilgi ve iletişim teknolojilerinde yaşanan gelişmeler devlet kurumlarını etkilemiş ve yönetim şekillerini değiştirmiştir. Merkezi yönetim ve belediyeler teknolojik gelişmeleri takip ederek e-devlet hizmetlerinden yararlanmaktadır. Vatandaşın bu gelişmelere uyumu, belirlenen hedeflere ulaşma açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi sınırları içinde ikamet eden vatandaşın ebelediye hakkındaki bilgi düzeyi ölçülmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, ankete katılan vatandaşların, bilgisayar ve internet kullanım düzeyleri yüksek fakat e-belediye hizmetlerinden haberdar olma düzeyleri düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca e-belediyeyi kullanma açısından eğitim ve gelir faktörlerinin bilgi ve farkında olma düzeyine etkisi olduğu görülmüştür
