Katolik İbadet Hayatında İlahilerin Yeri ve Önemi

İlahiler; tanrı övgüsü ile dolu, bestelenmek için yazılan insan ürünü şiirlerdir. Edebiyat, müzik ve dinin kesiştiği alanda şekillenen ilahiler bu üç alandan da özellikler barındırır. Edebî bir tür olarak ilahiler bazı şiirsel özellikleri haizdir. Kafiye, hece ölçüsü gibi şekil özelliklerinin yanı sıra, mecaz, abartma ve kişiselleştirme gibi üslup özelliklerine sahip olan ilahilerin amacı ibadetleri zenginleştirmektir. Günlük ve haftalık ibadetlerin vaz geçilmez bir unsuru olan ilahiler serbestçe yazılabildikleri için litürjik mevsimler ve kutlanan bayramlar ile daha yakından ilişkili ve ahlaki erdemler ile itikadi unsurları öğretici yönüyle daha kullanışlıdır. Bu çalışmada, günlük ve haftalık ibadetlerde okunan ilahilere örnekler verilerek Batı’da ve Türkiye’deki icra edilen ilahi okuma gelenekleri mukayeseli bir biçimde incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, hem Batı’da, hem de Türkiye’de aynı şekilde günlük ve haftalık ibadetlerin icra edildiği ve ilahilerin ibadetler esnasında aynı şekilde ve aynı amaçla kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Batı’daki ilahilerin kronolojik olarak daha eski, sayısal olarak daha çok ve muhteva olarak daha derin olması ulaşılan diğer bulgulardandır.

The Importance of The Hymns in The Catholic Liturgy

Hymns are man-made poems written to praise God and to be composed. The hymns are formed in the intersection of the fields of literature, music and religion; thus reflects features from these three fields. Besides the formal features such as rhyme and syllabic meter, the hymns embodies stylistic features such as; allegory, exaggeration and personalization. These features aim to enrich worship, educate believers about elements of faith, glorify them morally and provide information about the liturgical day. In this study, the hymns recited in daily and weekly prayers in the West and Turkey are examined from a comparative perspective. This paper concludes that the daily and weekly worships are executed in the same manner, and hymns are recited in the same way and for the same purpose during worship both in the West and in Turkey. Other findings include that the hymns in the West are chronologically older, quantitatively more and deeper in content.
