Öz Cumhuriyet döneminin en önemli kalkınma hareketlerinden biri de Halkevlerinin açılmasıdır. Milletin yaşayış seviyesini, çağdaş milletler seviyesine çıkarmak, hatta bu seviyenin üzerinde olmak, ulusal birliğin gelişmesini, yayılmasını hızlandırmak için acil önlemler alınmıştır. Bunlardan birisi de Halkevleri idi. Kars’ın ilçelerinde Halkevleri açıldı. Iğdır Halkevi’nin Spor, Köycülük, Sosyal Yardım, Kütüphane ve Neşriyat Şubesi adı altında dört şube oluşturuldu. Iğdır Halkevi’nin hem bütçe, hem de faaliyet raporları CHP Genel Sekreterliği’ne Kars Halkevi aracılığıyla iletildi. Iğdır Halkevi bölgede belirlenen amaçlar doğrultusunda etkili olmaya çalışmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Iğdır, Halkevi, Kars, CHF.      ABSTRACT One of the main progress plans in the republic period was the opening of community centres. Imminent precautions were taken to increase the lifestandards of citizens to the level of modern civilisations or even higher and to accelerate the development and spread of national unity. Community centres were one of them. Community centres were opened in the districts of Kars. Community centre in Iğdır consisted of four branches: “Spor, Köycülük, Sosyal yardım, Kütüphane ve Neşriyat”. Both the budget and activity reports of the community centre in Iğdır were transferred to the general secreteriat of CHP through the community centre in Kars.
