İzmir’de Türk Sanat Müziği dinleyicisinin müzik dinleme ihtiyacını

The overwhelming majority of the institutions that meet the needs of theTurkish art music oriented audiences in İzmir are the amateur musicensembles. As of 2018, the number of these ensembles having increasedsignificantly in İzmir's music life and in the lives of people is one hundredand fifty. The aim of this article is to understand the purpose of the existenceof these Turkish Art Music amateur ensembles and their place / importancefor people and music life in İzmir. Fifty choirs were taken as reference forthis study. These choirs were analysed according to concepts such associalization, urbanization, modernization, loneliness via the data obtained byobservation, interview and questionnaire methods during the pre-concertrehearsals and concerts. Due to the fact that amateur music ensembles definethemselves as choirs, associations, societies and communities, choruses,associations, societies; these words were used synonymously in the text,although there is no difference in structure, quality and function. The studydoesn’t specify any names and venues as it was conducted on condition thatno choir chief and the name of the choir to be revealed.
