Türklerin tarih sahnesinde yer almalarından itibaren, Türk müziği toplu icra geleneğinde, gerek çalgısal, gerekse icra teknikleri bakımından önemli değişimler ve gelişimler yaşanmıştır. Orta Asya’da göçebe bir yaşam tarzı süren Türkler, bütün toplumlar gibi, gelenek-göreneklerini, yaşam tarzlarını, yaşadıkları olayları bir araya gelerek müzik ve ritimle anlatmışlar, böylelikle doğal bir süreç içerisinde gelişen bir toplu icra geleneği ortaya çıkmıştır. Türklerin İslamiyet’i kabulünden sonra İslami kültür, katmış olduğu maneviyatı ile Türk müziği ile bütünleşmiş ve bunun sonucunda derin bir musiki ve icra anlayışı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu araştırmada, geçmişten günümüze değin Türk müziğinde toplu icra anlayışı irdelenmiş, çeşitli mekân, kurum ve kuruluşlarda ortaya çıkan ve gelenekselleşen toplu icra faaliyetleri ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada Türk müziğinde geçmişten günümüze süregelen toplu icra faaliyetleri kapsamında, zaman içerisinde ortaya çıkan farklı icra toplulukları incelenmiş, bu toplulukların gerek icra tarzları, gerekse repertuarları bakımından ortaya koydukları farklılıklar açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada bu icra topluluklarının oluşturulduğu kurum ve mekanların genel musiki faaliyetlerine de yer verilmiştir.

Since Turkish people began to take place at a historical scene, a tradition of a collective performance of Turkish music, lived through important changings and evolution, both in the way of performance and instrumentality. Turkish people, who had nomadic style of life in Middle Asia and like every population, tried to express their own traditions, way of life, with music and rhytm, by making music together. Thus, the changing and developing tradition of collective performance has shaped in natural conditions. After the accepting Islam by Turkish people, the way of performance of Turkish music lived through some changings. The Islamic culture with its spirituality, has integrated with Turkish music and a result of it is a deep meaningly music and way of performance. In this work, the conception of collective performance of Turkish music, which take place in different locations and institutions, is examined in its changings and evolution, since the past until nowadays. In this study, the different music ensembles are examined, which were appeared during the long history of development of collective performance art in Turkish music. The differences between the performance’s styles and also in repertoires of those collectives were analyzed. In this work the big place was given to a theme of the foundation and institution of these collectives in the common musical activities
