JOHN LOCKE’DA TEMSİL TEORİSİ: SÖZCÜK VE İDE İLİŞKİSİ

20. yüzyılın ilk yarısında analitik filozofların epistemolojik ilgilerinin önemli ölçüde bilgi ve algı arasındaki ilişkiye odaklandığını söyleyebiliriz. Russell, Moore, H.H.

JOHN LOCKE’S THEORY OF REPRESENTATION: THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WORDS AND IDEAS

In the first half of the 20th century, the epistemological interests of analytical philosophers have largely focused on the relationship between knowledge and perception. These philosophers including thinkers as Russell, Moore, H.H. Price, Ayer, advocated a doctrine known as sensory-data theory, despite all its differences. The philosophical roots of the so-called doctrine, which we call as a matter of representation in general term, can be traced back to Ancient Greece, but in modern philosophy one of the most famous references of this theory is the English philosopher J. Locke (1632-1704). Locke's views, which address the problem of the awareness of the world of objects outside our minds or perceptions, have been understood and interpreted in many ways but ln this paper, it will be examined the philosopher’s representative epistemology in terms of just relationships between words (names) and ideas .
