Kuran çevirileri İslamiyetin ilk dönemleriyle başlamış ve İslamın farklı toplumlarla münasebetleri sürecinde dünya çapında yayılma göstermiştir. İlk Türkçe Kuran çevirilerine Uygur alfabeleriyle rastlanmaktadır. Daha sonra Anadolu Beylikleri ve nihayet Osmanlı ile Cumhuriyet devirlerinde de Kuranın Türkçeye aktarılması söz konusu olmuştur. Hemen her eylem gibi Erken Cumhuriyet dönemindeki çeviri eylemlerinin de belirli bir amacı bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışma Erken Cumhuriyet dönemindeki Kuran çevirisi örneklerini ele alarak Gidon Tourynin norm kavramı ışığında açıklamayı hedeflemiştir. Böyle bir araştırmanın malzemesi olarak da o dönemle ilgili tarih biliminin yöntemleriyle yazılmış bilimsel kaynakların verilerine ve yan metinlere müracaat etmiş; bu çeviri süreçlerini betimlemek için çeviribilimin kavramlarıyla çalışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak görülmüştür ki, Tourynin kavramsal bakış açılarıyla Cumhuriyet dönemindeki Kuran çeviri süreçleri çeviribilimi kavramlarıyla ilişkilendirilerek açıklanabilmekte, çevirilere yönelik nedensellikler ortaya konulabilmektedir.

Quranic translations have begun in the early decades of Islam, spreading out into the world during its interaction process with different societies. In the very first Quran translations, one can come across Uigur alphabets. Later, during the Anatolian dukedoms and finally the Ottoman and Republican periods, the translation of the Quran took place. As almost every activity happens to be, the activities of translation in the early Republican era also had a certain objective. This work aims to explain the Quran translations in the Republican era, referring to the translation theories of Andere Lefevere and Gidon Toury. Further, as the substance of such research, data and assessments from scientific sources written with the methods of science of history were invoked. In order to describe these translation processes, terms and theories of translation studies were engaged. As a result, it turned out that with the theoretical perspectives of Toury, the Quran translation process of the Republican era can be explained by relating them to the terms of translation studies, and regarding the translations causalities can be put forth.
