KRİZLERİN TURİZM SEKTÖRÜNE ETKİLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA: 2016 YILI TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Turizm sektörü, Türkiye ekonomisinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Turizm sektörünün varlığı ve sürdürülebilirliği emniyet ve güven ortamına bağlıdır. Turizm hassas bir sektör olup doğal afetler, salgın hastalıklar, terör olayları, iç çatışma, sokak olayları, politik, ekonomik ve sosyal krizlerden çabuk etkilenebilmektedir. Bu araştırma 2016 yılında Türkiyede yaşanan krizlerin, Türk turizm sektörüne etkilerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma verileri Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu ile Türkiye Seyahat Acenteleri Birliğinin turizm istatistiklerinden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma, 2016 yılında Türk turizmi için büyük ekonomik kayıpların yaşandığını ortaya koymaktadır. Türkiyeye gelen ziyaretçi sayısı bir önceki yıla göre %24,7, turizm gelirleri %29,8 ve kişi başı ortalama harcama %6,8 oranında azalmıştır. Türkiyeye en çok turist gönderen 10 ülkeden sadece Gürcistandan gelen turist sayısında %15,40 oranında bir artış görülmektedir. Diğer 9 ülkenin tamamında önemli düşüşler gözlenmektedir. Rusya Federasyonu %-76,26, Irak %-61,54, Fransa %-34,48, İngiltere %-31,87, Almanya %-30,30, Hollanda %-26,46, Yunanistan %-21,48, Bulgaristan %-7,18 ve İran %-2,07 şeklinde sıralanmaktadır.

A Rerearch on The Effect of The Crisis to Tourism Sector: The Example of Turkey in The 2016 Year

The tourism sector has an important place in Turkish economy. The existence and sustainability of the tourism sector depends on confidence and safety. Tourism is a sensitive sector and can be quickly affected by natural disasters, epidemics, terrorist acts, internal conflict, street events, political, economic and social crises. The purpose of this research to reveal the effects of crises that Turkey faced in 2016 on tourism sector. The research data were obtained from the tourism statistics of Turkish Statistical Institute and Turkish Travel Agencies Association. The findings have revealed that in 2016 Turkish tourism had great economic losses. Compared to the previous year, the number of visitors to Turkey decreased by 24.7 %, tourism revenues by 29.8 % and average per capita expenditures by 6.8 %. Among the 10 countries that send the most tourists to Turkey, only 15.40 % increase is seen in the number of tourists coming from Georgia. Significant declines have been observed in all 9 other countries. These decreases are ranked as: -76.26 % in Russian Federation, -61.54 % in Iraq, -34.48 % in France, -31.87 % in the United Kingdom, -30.30 % in Germany, -26.46 % in the Netherlands, -21.48 % in Greece, -7,18 % in Bulgaria and -2,07 % in Iran.
