Göç ile Sendika Üyeliği Etkileşiminin Yaşam Memnuniyeti Üzerindeki Etkisi: Kocaeli Örneği

Öz Göçmenlerin yeni bir kültüre uyum sağlamada birçok sorunla karşılaştığı, yoğun şekilde stres yaşadığı ve hatta yaşam kalitelerinin düştüğü yaygın olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çerçevede, göçmenlere yönelik tutum ve davranışları, göçmenlerin sorunlarını inceleyen çok sayıda çalışmaya karşılık, göçmenlerin göç ettikleri yerdeki yaşam memnuniyetine ilişkin algıyı ölçen çok az sayıda çalışma bulunmaktadır. Bununla birlikte, yaşam memnuniyeti üzerinde sendika üyesi olmanın etkisi de göz ardı edilen konulardan biridir. Yazındaki söz konusu eksikliklerin giderilmesine katkı sağlamayı hedefleyen bu çalışmada, göç edip Kocaeli’ye yerleşenlerin sendika üyesi olma durumunda yaşam memnuniyetindeki değişim incelenmektedir. Bu doğrultuda, Kocaeli ili genelinde çalışmakta olan 1054 kişiden (% 40,9 kadın, % 59,1 erkek) veri elde edilmiştir. Örneklemde, göçle gelerek Kocaeli’ye yerleşmiş olduğunu ifade edenlerin sayısı 483 olup, oranı % 45,8’dir. Çalışmanın amacı, göç ederek şehre yerleşmiş olanların yaşam memnuniyetinde sendikalı olmalarının etkisini incelemektir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, araştırmanın varsayımı olan, göç etmiş olma ve sendikalı olmanın etkileşiminin yaşam memnuniyeti üzerindeki etkisini desteklemektedir. Bu sonuca göre, göç etmiş olmanın yaşam memnuniyeti üzerinde olumsuz etkisi olsa da göç edenlerin sendika üyesi olması durumunda yaşam memnuniyetleri olumlu yönde etkilenmektedir. Göç etme ile sendika üyesi olmanın birlikte etkileşiminin yaşam memnuniyetini arttırmadaki olası nedenleri, çalışmanın teorik katkısı ve uygulamaya dönük öneriler ile birlikte tartışmaya sunulmaktadır.
