ANTROPH-AMORPHOUS METAFOR IN “KUTADGU BILIG” AND PECULIARITIES OF ITS TRANSLATION INTO ENGLISH

The aim of the research is to study metaphors in Kutadgu Bilig, dealing with parts of human’s body as well as the ways and adequacy of their translation into English through Russian. For example, baš-“head”; köz-“eye”; jüz-“fase”; til-“tongue”; boyun-“neck”; adaq-“foot”. But the research shows that metaphors with such words as “bas”, “jüz”, “til” can be met more often than other parts of the body. Each of them reguires special and careful study, that is why this study is devoted to one of these words i.e. “baš”-“head”. The reason is that “baš” in its turn can be sudivited into several groups where as a metaphor it can give different meanings. The study also provers that translation of metaphors can not always be successful even if some metaphor bears very important cultural meaning one can notice that it does not always give the right meaning
