Meb Destekli Sanal Öğrenme Nesnelerinin Matematik Öğretiminde Etkili Teknoloji Kullanımı Bağlamında İncelenmesi

Web tabanlı dijital öğrenme kaynaklarının sınıf ortamlarında kullanılma imkanını artırabilecek olan Fırsatları Artırma ve Teknolojiyi İyileştirme Hareketi (FATİH) projesi, erişime açık dijital kaynakların öğretimdeki etkililiğini sorgulamayı gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı (MEB) Eğitim Portalı web sayfasından ulaşılan “öğrenme nesneleri” matematik öğretimindeki etkinliği çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. MEB öğrenme nesnesi veri tabanında farklı türlerden 115 adet 5., 6., 7. ve 8. sınıflar matematik dersi öğrenme nesnesi doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle nitel olarak incelenmiştir. Sınıf düzeyleri ve matematik dersi öğrenme alanları temelinde öğrenme nesneleri ve matematik kazanımları karşılaştırıldığında, öğrenme nesnelerinin oldukça sınırlı sayıda kazanıma karşılık geldiği, sanal nesnelerin kağıt/kalem ortamı materyallerinden farklı olarak teknolojinin matematik öğretimindeki potansiyel katkılarını sergileyecek güçte olmadığı araştırma bulguları çerçevesinde ortaya çıkmıştır.

AN EXAMINATION OF MEB SUPPORTED VIRTUAL LEARNING OBJECTS IN THE CONTEXT OF USE OF EFFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY IN MATHEMATICS TEACHING

The Movement to Increase Opportunities and Technology (FATİH) project, which can increase the possibility of use of web-based digital learning resources in classrooms, deserves an investigation of effectiveness of open access digital resources in teaching. This study examines the effectiveness of the “learning objects” accessed via web page of the education portal of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) in mathematics teaching. A total of 115 mathematics course learning objects of different types used at 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, were qualitatively examined by means of document analysis. Comparing MEB learning objects and mathematical acquisitions on the basis of class levels and mathematics course learning domains, the study demonstrated that learning objects provided a limited number of skills, and that those objects presented in a virtual environment were not effective enough to ensure potential contributions of technology to mathematics teaching, as distinct from the materials used in paperand-pencil environments.
