DİNAMİK İSTATİSTİK YAZILIMI İLE VERİ ANALİZİNDE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN İNFORMAL ÇIKARIMLARININ İNCELENMESİ

Bu çalışma ile ilkokul üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin informal istatistiksel çıkarım becerilerine odaklanılmıştır. Özel durum çalışması kapsamında yürütülen çalışma, 2013- 2014 eğitim öğretim yılında Zonguldak ilinde bir devlet okulunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada ilkokul üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin dinamik istatistik programı Tinkerplots kullanarak veri tabanlı çıkarımları nasıl yaptığı gözlenmiştir. Tinkerplots yazılımı Knold ve Miller (2005) tarafından ilkokul ve ortaokul düzeyindeki öğrencilerin öğrenme ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak için özel olarak tasarlanmış dinamik bir yazılımdır. Öğrenciler araştırma aracı olarak Tinkerplots’u kullanarak, toplanan veriyi analiz etmiş ve elde ettikleri bulguları tartışmışlardır. Çalışmanın bulguları Paparistodemou & Meletiou (2008) tarafından tanımlanan model çerçevesinde ortaya konmuştur. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda istatistik öğretiminde erken yaşlarda dinamik yazılımların kullanılmasının öğrencilerin çıkarımsal muhakemelerini geliştirebileceği sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu kapsamda bir araç olarak öğretmenler ve araştırmacılar tarafından sınıflarda kullanılması önerilmektedir
