KAMU BÜYÜKLÜĞÜ İŞSİZLİĞİN VE GENÇ İŞSİZLİĞİN NEDENİ MİDİR? TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Öz Kamu büyüklüğü ve işsizlik arasındaki ilişki iktisat literatüründe sıklıkla tartışılmaktadır. Bu ilişki hem politik hem de ekonomik açıdan ülkeler için önem arz etmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ekonomisinde kamu büyüklüğü ile işsizlik ve genç işsizlik arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisini incelemektir. Bu amaç için 2005:Q1-2018:Q1 dönemi ele alınarak Toda-Yamamoto nedensellik testi ve zamanla değişen nedensellik testinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın ampirik bulguları kamu büyüklüğünden işsizliğe ve genç işsizliğe doğru tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi olduğunu göstermektedir. Bununla birlikte zamanla değişen nedensellik test sonuçlarına göre, değişkenler arasındaki bu nedensellik ilişkileri Türkiye ekonomisinde dönem dönem farklılaşmaktadır.
