Öz Bireylerin birbirleriyle yazılı veya görsel olarak iletişim kurmalarını kolaylaştıran sosyal medya farklı inanç, milliyet ve kültürlere sahip insanların diğerlerini tanımalarına ve aynı zamanda kendilerini sorgulamalarına da yol açmıştır. Dolayısıyla sosyal medya birey ve toplumların değişmesine imkân tanımış bununla beraber toplumlarda ki değişimlerin de anlık olarak göz önüne çıkmasını sağlamıştır. Bu gün artık insanlar sosyal medyayı takip ederek dünyayı tanıma, kendini dünyaya anlatma imkân ve fırsatına her zamankinden daha çok sahiptirler. Yine günümüzde bir toplumun veya grubun zihinsel değişiminin ele alındığı bir çalışma kapsamında o toplum veya gruptaki bireylerin sosyal medya hesaplarının değerlendirilmesi sonucu bu değişimle ilgili önemli veriler elde edilebilir. Çünkü sosyal medya bütün insanlara açık bir platformdur. Yapısı itibariyle de çoğunluğun benimsediği, takip ettiği veya onayladığı düşünce ve davranışlarda ön plana çıkmaktadır. Dolayısıyla sosyal medya kamuoyunu yansıtan bir işleve bürünmektedir. Aynı zamanda kamuoyunu etkileyen bir işleve sahip olan sosyal medya, birey ve toplumla ilgili pek çok kavram ve kurum ve olguyu da değiştirmektedir. Bu değişiklikler, toplumsal yapıyı değiştirmekte ve adeta toplumu yeniden inşa etmektedir. Sosyal medyanın bu yapısı beraberinde eleştirileri de getirmektedir. Today, people have the opportunities and possibilities to acknowledge the world, to tell the world about themselves more than ever before by following the social media. Yet today, in the extent of a study that dealt with the mental changes of a society or a group in the evaluation of that society or groups’ social media accounts, one can obtain important data about this change. Because social media is a platform open to all people. It comes into prominence as of it’s structure in the thought or behavior adopted or followed by the majority. Which is a function of social media it is also affecting the public, many individuals and institutions and concepts and facts related with the society is changing. These changes alter the social structure and society is almost rebuilt. It brings together the criticisms of the structure of social media.
