GELİR DAĞILIMI EŞİTSİZLİĞİ VE YAŞAM BEKLENTİSİ İLİŞKİSİ: WILKINSON HİPOTEZİ

Öz Bu çalışmada, 1995-2011 dönemi için 35 OECD üyesi ve 52 OECD üyesi olmayan ülke için gelir dağılımı eşitsizliği ve ömürde yaşam beklentisi arasındaki ilişkiler Wilkinson Hipotezi çerçevesinde Westerlund eşbütünleşme ve CCE tahmincisi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Westerlund eşbütünleşme testi sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, değişkenlerin eşbütünleşik olduğunu göstermiştir. CCE tahmincisi sonuncunda ise OECD ülkeleri için genel itibariyle gelir dağılımı eşitsizliği ve ömürde yaşam beklentisi arasında negatif, OECD üyesi olmayan ülkeler için ise genel itibariyle pozitif ilişki bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar incelendiğinde, ele alınan ülkelerin büyük bölümünde Wilkinson Hipotezini destekler nitelikte sonuçlar tespit edilmiştir.
