WISC-R Temelinde Üstün Yeteneklilik Profil Analizi: Ankara İli Örneği

Bu çalışmada, Ankara ili örneğinde Wechsler Bireysel Zeka Testi Gözden Geçirilmiş Form (WISC-R) temelinde üstün yeteneklilik profilinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ankara’daki iki Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi’nde 2010-2012 eğitim öğretim yılları arasında değerlendirme kriterlerini karşılayarak üstün yetenekliliği belirlenen 503 öğrenci araştırmanın çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Analizler kapsamında öğrencilerin demografik bilgileri ile WISCR, alt alan ve alt test puanları incelenmiş, WISC-R alt alan puan farkları ve alt testlere ilişkin betimsel istatistikler yapılmış ve Tek Örneklem Profil Analizi kullanılarak alt test değerlerine ilişkin profil oluşturulmuştur. Ek olarak, öğrencilerin güçlü ve zayıf özellikler sergiledikleri alt testler incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar, üstün yetenekliliği belirlenen öğrencilerin dilsel-sözel alanda, görsel-motor alana göre daha yüksek düzeyde performans gösterdiklerini ortaya koymuştur. Görsel uzamsal akıl yürütme (Küplerle Desen), kavramsal ve mantıksal yargılama yeteneğine (Benzerlikler) ilişkin performanslarının diğerlerine göre daha yüksek olduğu; yeni bir görevi öğrenebilme, dikkatini toplama (Şifre) ve soyut sayı kavramlarını kullanarak akıl yürütebilme, problem çözme, dikkati toplama ve sürdürme (Aritmetik) performanslarının ise düşük olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuçlar ayrıca öğrencilerin büyük bir kısmının en az bir alt testte kendi alt alan ortalamalarından önemli ölçüde farklılaştıklarını göstermiştir. Çoğunlukla görsel uzamsal akıl yürütme (Küplerle Desen) ve kavramsal-mantıksal yargılamada (Benzerlikler) güçlü özellikler sergiledikleri, buna karşın, yeni bir görevi öğrenebilme ve dikkatini toplamada (Şifre) zayıf özellikler sergiledikleri belirlenmiştir
