Bilişim Teknolojilerinin Yönetsel ve Örgütsel Etkileri

Bilişim teknolojilerinin devreye girdiği 1960’lı yıllardan sonra endüstri devrimiyle birlikte edinilen alışkanlıklar ve iş yapma biçimleri radikal olarak değişmeye başlamıştır. Fakat bunun farkına varılması 1990’lardan sonra mümkün olabilmiştir. Özellikle Drucker, Toffler ve Malhatra gibi yazar, akademisyen ve araştırmacılar, bilgi teknolojisi ile birlikte yaşanılan gelişmelerin çok yönlü etkileri üzerinde durmuşlardır. Toplumsal, kültürel, psikolojik etkileri daha fazla ilgi çekmiş olmasına rağmen son yıllarda bu ilginin önemli bir kısmının örgütsel mekanizmalara kaydığı görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda bilişim teknolojilerinin otorite ve kontrol, hiyerarşik yapı, örgütteki pozisyon sayısı ve departman performansı, istihdam ve görev yapısı, işgücü ve çalışma şekillerine etkisi araştırılmaktadır. Bu makalede bilişim teknolojilerinin genel, yönetsel ve örgütsel etkileri incelenecektir

MANAGERIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Since 1960’s that the information technologies had been parts of managerial activities, those work habits and nature of works obtained due to the industrial revolution started to be changed radically. However, recognition of such a trend was happened to been aware in the years of post- 90’s. Especially, those academicians, authors and researchers as Drucker, Toffler and Malhatra have emphasized the multidimensional effects of advancements and experiences owing to information technologies. Despite the psychological, cultural social effects of information technologies have aroused more interests, it has been seen that the most important part of this very interest has been directed to organizational mechanisms. In this sense, the effects of information technologies over some organizational variables such as authority and control, hierarchical structure, number of layers, performance of a department, employment structure, labor force and mode of working have been investigated. In this paper, so to speak, general, managerial and organizational effects of information technologies are to be examined
