European identity was formulated by developing relations with other communities in the historical process and varying values. In this historical process the main factor of European identity was an Islam, but confrontation of religions was always dangerous Recently religion in Europe, is it an actually belief of conscience or is it still a main factor to define “other”? After starting 11 September 2001 and still ongoing discussion of the clash of civilizations such as the phenomenon in today's environment, the existence of Muslim and European identity should not be missed is a historic opportunity. At this stage Turkey and Turks examination of Europe especially for Western side becomes a big important. If this examination is passed successfully, new beginning for humanity will be possible; different civilizations conflicted and had an interaction, they will complete lacks of each other then tend towards to new approach. At this moment European Union is a unique platform for assembling two different cultures, if Christianity and Muslim are combined in a same community with tolerance, common life with different aims and values which are fixed with multicultural concepts, this will be positive impact on all around the world not only Europe
