Bu çalışmanın amacı sosyal sorumluluk ile değerler arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırmaya Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi, Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi ve Pedagojik Formasyon Eğitimi olan 579 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri 2011-2012 güz döneminde toplanmış ve veri toplama araçları olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Sosyal Sorumluluk Ölçeği ve Schwartz Değerler Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar; kız öğrencilerin sosyal sorumluluk düzeylerinin, erkek öğrencilerinkinden daha yüksek olduğunu, ancak eğitim görülen sınıf düzeyine ve fakülteye göre sosyal sorumluluk açısından bir farklılık olmadığını göstermiştir. Sosyal sorumlulukla ilişkili olan yaşam değerleri, yardımseverlik, evrensellik, kendini yönlendirme, güvenlik ve uymadır. Sosyal sorumluluk ve değer kümeleri ilişkisi açısından yapılan analizde ise, sosyal sorumluluk ile en çok özaşkınlık, ikinci olarak da muhafazakarlık değer kümesinin ilintili olduğunu anlaşılmıştır. Özaşkınlık; yardımseverlik ve evrensellik değerlerini, muhafazakarlık ise, geleneksellik, güvenlik ve uyma değerlerini kapsamaktadır. Sonuçlar alan yazın bulguları eşliğinde değerlendirilmiştir.

The objective of this study is to investigate the relation between social responsibility and values. The study was participated by 579 students with training in Mugla Sıtkı Kocman University, Education Faculty, Tecnical Education Fakulty and Pedagogical Formation Program. The data were collected during fall semester in 2011-2012 academic year. The Personal Information Form, Social Responsibility Scale and Schwartz Value Inventory were used to collect data. The results indicated that the social responsibility levels of female students were higher than those of male students, however, no differences were found with respect to social responsibility as per the level of grade and school. Life Values Associated With Social Responsibility are benevolence, universalism, self-control, security, conformity. As for the analysis conducted with respect to the relation between social responsibility and values, it was found that social responsibility was most closely related to the value set of self-transcendence and conservatism, which was the second associated set of values. Self-transcendence encompasses the values of benevolence and universalism, whereas conservatism encompasses the values of tradition, security and conformity. The results were discussed in the light of the related literature.
