Girit, M. 16451913 yılları arasında iki yüz altmış sekiz yıl Osmanlı hâkimiyeti altında kalmıştır. Bu süre içerisinde kırk dört divan şairinin yetiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Hanyalı Nûrî Osman da Giritte yetişen şairlerden biridir. Bu şairlere ait çok sayıda manzum ve mensur eser vardır. Bunlardan çok azı hakkında akademik çalışmalar yapılmıştır Giritte siyasi hayatın yanı başında, ondan daha hızlı gelişerek yaygınlaşan beşerî ve edebî bir hayat daha vardır. Coğrafi özellikler, yetişen sebze ve meyveler, giyim tarzı, bayramlar, savaşlar, salgın hastalıklar, ekonomik hayat, farklı din ve milletlerden oluşan halkın birlikte yaşayabilme tecrübesi gibi Girite ait pek çok şey Nûrî Divanında görülebilmektedir. Ayrıca Giritli şairler ve çevresinde yaşayan halk da değişik sebeplerle şiirlere konu olmuştur. Bu makalede Hanyalı Nûrî Osman kısaca tanıtılacak ve Divanındaki Girite dair unsurlar paylaşılacaktır.

Crete was under the thumb of Ottoman Empire between the years of 16451913 for 268 years. It is estimated that 44 divan poets were brought up during that period. Hanyalı Osman Nuri is one of the poets who lived in Girit. There are a wide range of poetic and prose works belonging to these poets. Only a few of these works were studied academically. There is a humane and litaral life just beside the political life in Crete. Many things about Girit like geographical characteristics, the vegetables and fruits grown in the area, dressing style, fests, wars, epidemics, economic life and the experience of the people from different religions and nations who try to live together can be seen in Nuris Divans. Moreover the poets from Girit and the people inhabiting around Girit have been the subject matter of his poems. In this paper a brief information about Hanyalı Osman Nuri will be given and the elements about Girit in his Divan will be shared.
