CUMHURİYET DÖNEMİ’NDE KARS’TA EĞİTİM ( İlköğretim – Ortaöğretim)

Özet Tarihin çeşitli dönemlerinde farklı devletlerin hakimiyetinde olan Kars, Kanunu Sultan Süleyman zamanında Osmanlı Devletinin hakimiyetine girdi. Kars, Osmanlı Devletinin son dönemlerinde Erzuruma bağlı olduğu için sosyal, kültürel ve eğitim alanlarında hep bu şehrin gölgesinde kalmıştır. 1877-78 Osmanlı Rus Savaşından sonra yapılan Berlin Antlaşmasıyla Kars, Rus hakimiyetine geçmiştir. Bu tarihten sonra her açıdan zor günler geçiren Karsın 30 Ekim 1920de Anavatana katılmasıyla birlikte her yönden milli bir hareketlilik başlamıştır. Uzun yıllar boyunca milli eğitimden mahrum kalmış Kars halkı, öz benliğine Cumhuriyetin ilanından sonra kavuşmuştur. Cumhuriyet Döneminde eğitimin millileştirilmesi adına büyük uğraşlar verilmiştir. İlköğretim ve Ortaöğretimde zamanla okul, öğrenci ve öğretmen sayısında hızlı bir ilerleme söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim alanındaki gelişmeler tespit edilmiştir. İlköğretim alanında öğretmen öğrenci, okul sayıları, öğretmen özellikleri belirlenmeye çalışılırken, Ortaöğretimde ise okullar, öğrenci öğretmen mevcutları ortaya koyulmuştur.

EDUCATION IN KARS IN THE REPUBLIC PERIOD (Primary Education & Secondary Education)

Abstract Ruled by a range of states throughout the history, Kars came under the domination of the Ottoman Empire during the period of Suleiman the Magnificent. As it was affiliated with Erzurum province in the late Ottoman period, it was always overshadowed by that province in social, cultural, and educational terms. With the Treaty of Berlin signed after the 1877-78 Ottoman-Russo War, Kars fell under Russian domination. Kars, which had difficult times in all respects after that, was incorporated into the Motherland (Turkey) on 30 October 1920. As a result, a national movement flourished there in all aspects. The people of Kars that had been deprived of national education for a long time gained its self after the proclamation of the Republic. In the Republic period, great efforts were made to nationalize education. A rapid progress was achieved in the number of schools, students, and teachers in primary education and secondary education in the course of time. This study deals with developments in primary education and secondary education in Kars in the Republic period. For primary education, the number of teachers, students, and schools, teachers qualifications focused on. For secondary education, on the other hand, the number of students and teachers in schools are explored.
