Su Ürünleri Sektörü Rekabet Gücü Analizi: Türkiye ve Beş Lider Ülke Örneği

Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’nin su ürünleri sektöründeki uluslararası rekabet gücünü araştırmaktır. Bu amaç çerçevesinde Türkiye ve seçilmiş güçlü su ürünleri üreticisi ve pazarlamacısı (Çin, Endonezya, Hindistan, AB-28 ve Vietnam) ülkeler örneklem olarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada Birleşmiş Milletler Comtrade Veri Tabanında (UN Comtrade Database) yayımlanan (STIC Rev.3 Düzey 2 ve 3) dış ticaret verileri kullanılmıştır. Bu verilerin yardımıyla Balassa’nın (1965) Açıklanmış Karşılaştırmalı Üstünlükler (RCA) ve Donges vd.’nin (1982) Karşılaştırmalı İhracat Performansı (CEP) endeks değerleri hesaplanmıştır. RCA endeksi sonuçları, su ürünleri sektöründe en yüksek rekabet gücüne sahip ülkenin Hindistan olduğunu göstermektedir. Rekabet gücü düşük olan tek ülke ise AB-28’dir. Türkiye’nin sektörel rekabet gücü ise yüksek bulunmuştur. CEP endeksi sonuçlarına göre Türkiye’nin sadece AB-28 karşısında bir ihracat avantajı yakaladığı görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak Türkiye su ürünleri sektörü rekabet avantajı yüksektir. İhracat performansı ise artırılabilir bir potansiyele sahiptir.

Competitiveness Analysis of the Fisheries Sector: A Case of Turkey and 5 Leading Countries

The aim of this study is to investigate the international competitiveness of the fisheries industry in Turkey. Within this framework Turkey and selected a powerful manufacturer and marketer of seafood (China, Indonesia, India, AB28 and Vietnam) were taken as the sample countries. Foreign trade data (STIC Rev.3 Level 2 and Level 3) published in the United Nations Comtrade Database was used in the study. With the help of these data, the index values developed by Balassa (1965) Revealed Comperative Advantage (RCA) and Donges et al (1982). Comperative Export Performance (CEP) were calculated. The RCA index results show that the country with the highest competitive power in the fisheries sector was India. The only country with low competitiveness was the EU-28. Turkey's sectoral competitiveness were higher. According to the CEP index result shows that; Turkey achieved an export advantage against the only EU-28. As a result, Turkey fisheries sector competitive advantage was high. Export performance has an increasing potential.
